What a lead looks like
The earliest signal
The homeowner has applied for a permit that is not issued yet. Shown in areas where permit applications are available.
No contractor named yet
The property owner pulled the permit, not a contractor. These owners usually haven't hired every trade. Shown where the permit names who pulled it.
Trades still to hire
A building permit was issued, but no electrical, plumbing, HVAC or roofing permit has been pulled at that address yet, so those trades likely haven't been hired.

What our terms mean
Plain-language meanings of the words you'll see on this site and in your daily leads.
Permit lead
A newly issued (or newly applied-for) building permit at a property, sent to you as a possible job. It is information, not a guaranteed job.
Applied by Homeowner
The homeowner has applied for a permit that has not been issued yet. It is the earliest sign of a new project, often before contractors are chosen. Shown in areas where permit applications are available.
Owner-Pulled
The property owner pulled the permit themselves instead of a contractor. These owners often haven't hired every trade yet, so they may still need yours. Shown where the permit names who pulled it.
Gap Trades
A building permit was issued at an address, but no electrical, plumbing, HVAC or roofing permit has been pulled there yet. Those trades are the “gap”: they likely haven't been hired.
Highlighted (gold) leads
Leads tagged Applied by Homeowner, Owner-Pulled or Gap Trades. They appear first, in gold, in every email, CSV and sheet.
Lead Score
A score from 0 to 100 on every lead, based on the project's estimated value, whether it is Owner-Pulled or Applied by Homeowner, how many gap trades it has, whether it is new construction or an addition, and whether it is a home. Higher scores are usually worth contacting first.
Top 10
Your 10 highest-scoring new leads of the day, at the top of each morning's email.
Trade
The kind of work a permit involves, such as roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, solar, remodeling, pools or new construction. You get only the trades you choose.
Metro, city or county
A metro is a whole metropolitan area (for example Dallas–Fort Worth). It is made up of the cities and counties we cover there. A Local Feed covers one city or county; Metro, Pro and All-Access plans cover every covered city and county in the metro.
Questions contractors ask
What is the FREE sample delivery?
One full day of new permits for one trade in your metro, in the same email and CSV format our subscribers get. No credit card. One sample per company, so you can judge the leads before you pay anything.
How fresh are the leads?
New permits arrive every weekday by about 6 AM ET. We re-check recent days on every run, so permits that post late still reach you. How quickly a city or county posts its permits varies.
Which areas do you cover?
Major metros across the country, listed city by city on our coverage page. We add an area once we can deliver its permits reliably every day. Tell us your metro in the form if it isn't listed yet.
Does every permit become a lead or a job?
No. A permit is a project signal. That is why we score every lead and flag the ones most likely to still need your trade. Results depend on your trade, offer, outreach and follow-up.
Hasn't the homeowner already hired someone?
Often, for the trade on the permit. That is why we highlight Applied by Homeowner, Owner-Pulled and Gap Trades leads, the ones most likely to still need other trades. Homes near an active job are often the same age and need the same work too.
Do the leads include phone numbers or emails?
No. Each lead lists the property address, permit type and scope of work, plus the owner's mailing address where available. That is enough for a postcard, a letter or a door hanger. Never cold texts or robocalls.
Are you affiliated with any government agency?
No. PermitCentral is a private company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government.
Can I get my trade's leads exclusively?
Yes, with Territory Lock (+$297/month): you are the only company receiving your trade's feed in that city or county. One company per trade per area.
Can I cancel?
Yes. There is no contract and NO sign-up fee. Reply to any feed email or write to sales@viperconsulting.ai, and monthly plans stop at the end of the month you have paid for. Yearly plans get 2 months FREE.
